GHRP-6

Growth Hormone Releasing Hexapeptide

Updated April 14, 2026

What is GHRP-6?

A synthetic hexapeptide that potently stimulates growth hormone release through ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) activation. GHRP-6 was among the earliest GH secretagogues studied and produces the strongest hunger response of any GHRP — substantially increasing ghrelin and cortisol alongside GH. This non-selective profile makes it the preferred tool for studying the full spectrum of ghrelin receptor biology including orexigenic signaling.

Research Profile

Structure 6 amino acids (~873 Da) — His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂
Targets GHS-R1a (ghrelin receptor) — non-selective, strong
Research Focus GH secretion, ghrelin biology, appetite stimulation, gastric motility
Reconstitution Bacteriostatic water — 2 mg/mL
Stability 21 days at 2–8°C
Key distinction: Strongest appetite-stimulating GHRP — the pronounced hunger and cortisol response makes it the reference compound for full-spectrum ghrelin receptor biology, contrasting with Ipamorelin's selectivity.
